I was pleasantly shocked at how much I liked this movie. They say it's a drama, I laughed loudly, poignant at times, great action & again I laughed a lot. Tina Fey is a great writer. (and Actress)

The perfect combination of drama and comedy. It covers serious topics and has lots of depth but with a sense of humor that one needs in those situations. Tina Fey did a great job expanding herself into a more dramatic role. I would wathc this again and again.

Been deployed for years now and touched on a few familiar themes of life outside the snow globe. I never heard of the movie before and I'm glad I was able to see it. Glad ITunes had it so I can add it to my collection of watch again and again.

You’ll find more interesting things to watch on the bottom of your shoe. That’s not sarcasm, I’m dead serious. Move along, but run.

It's a dramatic action film w some comedy sprinkled throughout. Don't expect a lot of laughter, but very entertaining. Plus Margot Robbie is nice to look at:-)

I only got this movie I believe as part of a bundle discount several months back and hadn't watched it since. Never really heard of it, knew it wasn't a comedy despite having Tina Fey in it, and knew it was about Afghanistan. So glad I finally watched it. It is a remarkably nuanced and subtle movie about Kim Baker, a rookie war correspondent in the Afghanistan War. It is definitely not a comedy, although much of the movie you will have a smile on your face if not laughing out loud. It is also definitely not a war movie, although the reality of the war is brought home time and again throughout the movie. In some ways it is *about* Afghanistan, the place as well as the war, but told through the eyes of a foreigner. But in the end, it is a strong, human story, with wit and charm, well worth your money and time.
  • Real World - to a point

Anyone who has deployed to a warzone will get this movie. You change and Tina Fey captures the excesses, the emotions, the dangers, and having to return to the "real" world, but always thinking of your time downrange because that's when you felt the most alive. So Five Stars for the trip down memory lane.
  • Glad it was a $.99 cent rental

I failed to see any humor in this movie, which is the genre this movie was placed. Call me weird, but this movie was meh. Acting was solid but storyline was drivel. If it weren't for $.99 cent rental, I would be disgruntled paying for this movie.
