Rory (Jude Law), an ambitious entrepreneur and former commodities broker, persuades his American wife, Allison (Carrie Coon), and their children to leave the comforts of suburban America and return to his native England during the 1980's. Sensing opportunity, Rory rejoins his former firm and leases a centuries-old country manor, with grounds for Allison's horses and plans to build a stable. Soon the promise of a lucrative new beginning starts to unravel, the couple have to face the unwelcome truths lying beneath the surface of their marriage.

You keep waiting for something to happen and then you realize that what’s happened is you’ve been watching a boring movie with a cliche plot.

I wanted to like it. but it was painful slow and ultimately uncaptivating. I never write reviews, but I really do not recommend this film.

Dreadful movie. Total waste of money. The good reviews are from family and friends. Felt sorry for the horse.

People are either going to love this movie or hate it. It is the kind of film that leaves little room for middle ground opinions. I loved it. Incredibly smart storytelling told at an unflinching and delibrate pace. Coon and Law both deserve Academy Award nominations as their work as a married couple falling apart is outstanding. It's beautifully shot as well. Again, some people won't get it, but I thought it was absolutely stunning.

This was one of the slowest moving movies I have ever seen. A great excuse to spend millions. Sorry to report.

I tunes still shoveling the same stink. I'm not shocked. The minds of the majority of your customers are at best unconscious at the other end infants. I suppose y’all dont give a dirty rag after ya crunch the numbers. Thanks again for the innovation being a cut above the rest and all that.

The film was beautiful—amazing performances from all actors involved.

I was intrigued by the look and feel of this movie only to be severely disappointed. The characters were so-so, acting was ok, the story had no point at all and the ending was the worst in history of movie making. A wasted two hours and $5.

Wish Hollywood made more movies like this, just a smart story with two of the best actors around!
