Description

To save his declining business, Chris Cringle (Mel Gibson), also known as Santa Claus, is forced into a partnership with the U.S. military. Making matters worse, Chris gets locked into a deadly battle of wits against a highly skilled assassin (Walton Goggins), hired by a precocious 12-year-old after receiving a lump of coal in his stocking. 'Tis the season for Fatman to get even, in the action-comedy that keeps on giving.

This is one of those movies that no one talks about and is great! It’s made my top 5 favorite Xmas movies.

Disappointed by the Rotten Tomatoes and some of the reviews. I really thought this was clever writing. Presenting it as a dark comedy was genius. I am reminded of “Wicked” because of entirely different take on the classic Wizard of Oz. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and it’s slant. Definitely not a family feature.

Nice twist to the Chris Cringle myth. Entertaining story and action. If only there is really a proactive Santa. Oh, and it’s PC.

Mel Gibson as Santa Claus? He actually plays a very good Santa. Much different and darker than Tim Allen in the Santa Clause movies but this is a completely different type of film. I found myself really liking it. The storyline is good and moves right along. I love the assassin. I would like to see this guy’s other movies. Believable characters, sharp and sometimes funny dialogue. I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it.

The two gel just fine, these people are haters, geez. It’s not going to win Best Picture, but who expected that? It’s a fun two hours seeing these box office legends outwit(ty) each other, along with the super gags. It’s a fun 2 hours, $15.00. Don’t build it into more than it is.
  • Horrible, horrible - do not waste your money on this!

It’s one of the worst movies I have seen in a long time. Do not waste your money on it, or show it to your kids! Other than loads of killings around Santa Claus and a cheap production, what exactly is the story line? What has happened to Mel Gibson? The Year of Living Dangerously remains one of my favorite movies. What a deep, deep fall. This is just sad.
