Description

The marriage of Princess Diana (Kristen Stewart) and Prince Charles (Jack Farthing) has long since grown cold. Though rumors of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate. But this year, things will be profoundly different. Spencer is an imagining of what might have happened during those few fateful days.

Could not hear half of what Stewart was whispering (she didnt really talk) and had to turn the closed caption on to understand which made it pretty bad anyway.... I stopped watchng after she swallowed her pearls in the soup, did not know that it was supposed to be a horror movie. Don't waste your time and money...

Doesn’t seem to know what it wants to be. Too ambiguous. Feels like the director’s college thesis. Not sure if the director hates Princess Diane or the royals. Maybe the director wanted to make something everyone can hate.

Well, I think the creator of this film smoked crack while filming it. Don’t waste your money on this. It was not worth the money and it dragged on forever in Diana’s messed up mind. They should have put a disclaimer at the beginning of the movie warning you that Diana’s legacy was going to be ruined by this film. I thought it was simply horrid. If there was anything that truly moved me was the ending with Diana driving away with the boys in the car and the truth really hits you there. The constant parts in the movie showing her vomiting and acting like a lunatic, was absolutely devastating. I’m sure Diana was going through some severe depression, but I doubt very much that she borrowed wire cutters to break into her old home while wearing a dinner dress and seeing ghosts of what she thought would happen to herself - becoming a martyr. I’m sure once the affair was revealed, her world did come crashing down but the way they portrayed her in this movie was horrible. The royals know what they are. They also know what they did. And I don’t think anyone will ever forget it either.

The horrible music makes this unbearable to watch. It’s not clever just annoying and completely unnecessary
  • Beautiful representation of a true tragedy.

Kristen Stewart does an amazing job portraying Princess Diana in this fable from a true tragedy, as the director, Pablo Larrain, opens the film. Beautiful cinematography and a very intimate story that gives us another glimpse at the Royal’s tumultuous life.

Upset I wasted money on this. She whispered the entire time. Story line was not great, made her seem crazy when she wasn’t.
  • Somewhat boring, streaming keeps getting interrupted

I wanted to give this movie and KStew a chance. While Kristen is tolerable, the streaming film itself keeps getting interrupted with snow (I can still hear but the screen goes snowy). This doesn’t happen when I watch anything else, so I presume it must be Apple TV and this film in particular. Every 5 minutes or so, I have to pause and rewind a few seconds to make it go back to normal. Not sure if I’ll finish the film based on that alone- I’m about halfway through and it’s already difficult enough staying focused.

Waste of time, waste of money. Surprised Kristen Stewart is associated with this garbage. Couldn't get halfway through it. Seemed like a hit piece to make Diana look like a raving lunatic and the soundtrack encourages use of drugs. Is it possible to give negative stars?
