Description

Grace, a small-town English widow, discovers after her husband's suicide that he has squandered all their money and left her bankrupt -- and the banks are ready to reposes everything. Faced with impending doom, and with marketable few skills aside from her "green thumb," she struggles to save her home. Matthew, her financially struggling gardener who needs money to marry his sweetheart, suggests using her greenhouse to grow marijuana for the money they both need. When this plan succeeds, Grace takes the crop to London and tries to sell it to a ruthless but charming drug dealer. It all gets wild and crazy after that! Starring Golden Globe-winner Brenda Blethyn ("Introducing the Dwights," "Atonement") as Grace, and Emmy Award-nominee Craig Ferguson (TV's "The Late Show with Craig Ferguson," "I'll Be There") as Matthew. Ferguson also produced and wrote this film!

This film is important to me. Sorry if reality bores you, skip ahead if you'd like. The short way home is my brother-in-law Michael, husband of my wife's big sister, was dying. This was a modest time ago, though fifteen years and more it still happened just now. In reality, time is an illusion, ask Buddha if you've questions. He'd somehow picked up a parasitic fungus while helping to survey the central American jungle, so it could be correctly mapped. It was killing him, slowly eating him alive. No drugs, therapy or treatment could stop it, Michael was dying. He had gone blind, even his digestive tract had failed him, he had had a colostomy, and was in constant extreme pain. Michael needed his cannabis. He needed it so that first thing in the morning when he woke, he'd have a smoke, so that his stomach was settled enough before noon that he'd keep down that peanut butter and jelly sandwich that kept him alive, to have the strength to greet his little girl when she came home from school. I helped grow his medicine for a couple of years, since I was married to his wife's little sister, it was the only right and compassionate thing to do, he died, but cannabis gave him years more than he'd have otherwise had. I sincerely hope my modest effort and huge risk helped. Saving Grace, for a moment, takes that pain filled time and turns it into an uplifting voyage, it coaxed me to actually laugh about it, I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone that has taken the time to read this far. Thanks, best of luck to all of you.
