I was surprised how good this was. Yes it’s about women in the workplace and sexual harassment. But it’s so much more as well. Really think it’s 1 of her better movies 🎥
  • I'm only ranking that high for Charlize

I love her and the movie is based on a true story. Too bad the writers took almost all the fun out of watching a movie... You just hope after screwing it like this that they bought it dinner. It won't make it on my repeat watch list.

By far the most uncomfortable movie to sit through and i sat through some bombs. I can understand the point of it as the true story history of equal opportunity in the workplace but, you can only kick the point around so much it will sicken the audience or leaves them feeling alienated and uncomfortable. Thus loosing its point altogether and coming off as too preachy. That’s why I ranked it so low. One of the worst I’ve seen.
  • Proud depiction of overcoming virulent sexism

This film deserves five stars from every angle: screenplay, directing, editing, cinematography, soundtrack, acting, ethics. It was a project of Participant Media, which “…believes that a good story well told can truly make a difference in how one sees the world.” Misogyny has been endemic in western cultures since long before all those living were born. We are overcoming it over a span of generations. Films like this are part of the solution. Brava.

Having worked in the 1980's in a male dominated field, I can say this harassment happened daily. Women in the workplace not being taken seriously and considered "nuts or sluts" if you complained. This should be shown in every classroom in America. Great acting job from everyone. I was very impressed with the movie and the fact that it's a true story.

One of the most disturbing films I have seen in that it is based on a true story. So hard to fathom, but know it happens every day, the nature and extent of the sexual harassment that existed in that company. A well told story. Beautiful performances by Charlize Theron, Frances McDormand, and Sissy Spacek. Great film.
