This is a show where Black people’s history is ACTUALLY shown from the perspective of a Black person, not a white person, for once. A successful BLACK MAN, lives in a nice neighborhood, married and APART OF HIS KIDS LIVES! THIS. THIS IS WHAT THE MEDIA SHOULD SEE ! Not all African-Americans live in a bad home/neighborhood, go to terrible public school (not that all public schools are bad), have poor manners and all the other things the media and racist people think blacks are. This show is the representation I needed to see on my tv growing up. There are plenty of jokes on the show along with lessons that would help non black people understand us a little more. It also shows some of the down sides of living in America while being a POC. REAL TOPICS are talked about. Finally, it also shows everyone what things are appropriate and inappropriate to say to a POC. It jokes about it too ! Because all jokes aside, words hold a greater meaning than people like to admit. I highly recommend this show and hope you enjoy it as much as my family and I continue to do.

It’s a shame that the first review on here is simply a showcase for malcontent bigot with a very limited capacity for being “clever”. The show itself has a lot of layers and things to say while still being consistently amusing. It loses a star for not being as funny as it used to be but few shows this long into their run. A good show with a point of view we get to see very often.
