Description

In a world where criminals rule the streets, evil has finally met its match. There is a new protector of the weak and oppressed, the hilarious blue defender of goodness, known as The Tick (Patrick Warburton, Seinfeld)! Together with his sidekick Arthur (David Burke, Party of Five) and their friends — the insatiable Batmanuel (Nestor Carbonell, Suddenly Susan), and the alluring Captain Liberty ( Liz Vassey, Push Nevada) — these heroes will prove they are more than just big, dumb guys in silly-looking suits. Produced by Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black I & II, Wild Wild West) and based on the hit comic book, these hysterical nine episodes span the entire series. So let this be a warning to naughty people everywhere, for you have met The Tick!

5 stars just isn't enough for this show, it was way ahead of its time and got cancelled much too soon. Buy every episode, and if you're like me you'll marathon them then instantly start the series over again! A true classic!

It:s pure genius. Its really amazing to combine the absurd with subtle layer of deep and cogent social commentary. And this show is so funny too! It is a real tragedy this didn't somehow get picked up somewhere for a few more seasons. Here's hoping they make a movie or something - ANYTHING - to keep this thing going. Pat W rocks. I loved Hellboy but this is operating on a whole nother plane of super hero comedy. This one season is special and will be treasured.

Patrick Warburton plays a great Tick, and seems even a little crazier than the original. I thought this was funny when I was a kid, and rewatching it now, it's still just as hilarious as the first time.
  • Good Cartoon is Better

There's no question that Patrick Warburton is the only actor who could ever portray The Tick in a live action show which is pretty good but had they stuck more to the 90s cartoon - it could have been a lot better. Batmanuel instead of Die Fledermaus and Captain Liberty over American Maid - just not the same. No Sewer Urchin? The whole point of The Tick was to parody mainstream comic super heroes. The cartoon Tick's hilarious one liners of wisdom "Gravity is a harsh mistress" are completely lost. Yet another example of Fox crippling something with a lot of potential.

This idea has so much potential, its too bad they couldn't do more with it. Weak plot, weak acting and weak directing. Definitely a no-go.

Just finished the season - loved it! I am tired of drama based shows or 'real' shows. If you like adult humor, cartoon like plot lines, and occasional celebrity guest appearances, this is a great show. Highly recommended for the occasional study break.
  • Can they bring this show back!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

This show is great. I wish there were more seasons. I don't think people ever gave it a chance.
  • There are few tragedies greater than the cancellation of this series
