Description

One day, nobody dies. All across the world, nobody dies. And then the next day, and the next, and the next, people keep ageing - they get hurt and sick - but they never die. The result: a population boom, overnight. With all the extra people, resources are finite. It’s said that in four month's time, the human race will cease to be viable. But this can’t be a natural event – someone’s got to be behind it. It’s a race against time as C.I.A. agent Rex Matheson investigates a global conspiracy. The answers lie within an old, secret British institute. As Rex keeps asking “What is Torchwood?" he’s drawn into a world of adventure, and a threat to change what it means to be human, forever.

This was not Torchwood. It could have been but it missed the mark. The idea was inspiered but the plot development and story telling were slow ploding and just made a good idea of a story boring and tedious. If they go back to their roots even keeping the new actors added by this story I'd forgive this little nightmare. I am from the USA and I say keep Torchwood in the UK. Don't let USA movie and TV producers or companies anywhere near it EVER again.
  • Great new direction!

At first I felt like Torchwood had lost it's torchwoodness with miracle day. However after the series progresses I began to really enjoy it. I feel like the new direction was necessary to maintain it's freshness.
  • This is not the Torchwood I remember.

Honestly this season ruined the series and I can see why it didn't come back for a fifth season. The stories are beyond on boring, most of the main cast (that's left anyways) are hardly even on, and the new characters are flat and unbearable. This show never was great to begin with, but this season definitely an example of what NOT to do. Save your time and money and go watch Doctor Who instead. 😉

Spoiler alert! The big bad baddie? Not an alien. It's not even a living thing. I don't know what it was, because it made no sense. You thought "Cyberwoman" was bad back in season one? This is worse. And it's a whole Serial! It barely even mentions anything from the prior seasons. Remember how Children of Earth ended with Jack running away on a passing alien ship because of what he did? Yeah, that is totally not brought up here, or if it is, it's so quickly glanced over that I missed it. So we start out with the entire world becoming immortal. No one on earth can die, no matter what happens to them. The same, however, cannot be said for Captain Jack, who has suddenly found himself mortal once again! This sounds like a great premise, doesn't it? Sadly, it is handled in a way that makes the entire serial so boring and uneventful, that It made me want to watch "Of Love and Monsters" instead. It's painful, it's dull, and it's nothing I would ever recommend. My opinion? Pretend the series ended at "Children of Earth". At least that one was good.

I loved the British Torchewood but as soon as they brought it over here to America we screwed it. Many of my friends agree with me on it.

The Hollywood-izing makes the season that much more intensely graphic and entertaining. Hard to not watch all episodes in one siting! Hope they bring the show back for season 5!
