episode 1 i didnt laugh once ...since when do you call this comedy? using shallow language is not funny here ...its almost like the actors are really trying so hard to be funny in a serious way,,,not happy i bought season 1.
  • It's funny, because it's true.

Veep is literally (and I mean literally - not the way VP Biden uses "literally") the best television show about politics ever. It's brilliantly written and acted, but the reason it represents the acme of political fiction is because everything in it is amazingly true to life. Exaggerated for comic effect, yes - but the characters, the dialogue, the situations are all representative of people and places I've seen in over ten years of being a political hack. I find myself laughing hysterically as the characters of Veep find themselves in situations I myself have been in, having conversations I myself have had. Veep is heads and shoulders above other political comedies or dramas such as "The West Wing" - which, as well written and compelling as it was, had no resemblance to actual politics. Like a ll great comedy, Veep is funny because it's true.

This is perhaps the best show I've seen in a long time. It's government the way it should be. I laughed through every episode. This is a must see!!
  • Not Dumb Enough to be Funny

There is dumb that is funny and funny, which is funny, but this show isn’t funny - at all. It’s just plain silly, not the least bit amusing.

Dear HBO, Just because you CAN have cuss words on your cable network, doesn't mean that you should put cuss words in every dialogue sentence! This show seems great, but it's unwatchable by those of us who don't care for the negative energy of cuss words.

I could not agree more with the decision of giving the natives a chance to right the wrong on trible land.

This show would be funnier if it was funny.
  • Worst show

There are other bad shows on television. I can't believe I actually paid money for this series. It is like a a continuous bad jokes where the punch line is the f word. If they removed all of them the show would be about 20 minutes shorter. And I like Julia Louis-Dreyfus and I don't mind the appropriate swear word. Save your money and your brain.
  • Offensive and boring

Watched the first four episodes. Lots of foul language, self-absorbed and pathetic characters and no redeeming features we can think of. Definitely not recommended viewing.
