  • Refreshing, fun, and powerful

    By Aimee.esm
The Thirteenth Doctor and her new “fam” are as great a team as ever in this new season. The story lines are fresh and the plot twists are surprising and powerfully done. Sacha Dhawan is fantastic in his new role despite the giant shoes he had to fill. I look forward to seeing more of him and his relationship with the Doctor as it develops.
  • Whovian till I die....

I fell in love with Dr. Who in the 70's and have never wavered in my faithfulness. I welcomed the 'reset' feel to the previous season when Jodie took over and dialed back the darkness and eerieness that made up Eccleston/Tenant/Smith/Capaldi eras. It was getting back to a basis on the makeup of the Doctor and his/her companions and how they faced the world and I found it refreshing. This season however, something has changed. Whether it is a propensity to address global problems (climate change, micro plastics, etc.) or just the lack of chemistry development among the characters, the season is left wanting. This is not to do with the acting or actors, but I feel the writing. The Doctor continues to roll through the world and the events surrounding her/him but is feels as if at the end of every episode (so far, granted) there is a mini speech informing us as a community of fans what we already know- the climate is bad, corporations rule the world, plastics in the water, etc. I will never stop being a Dr. Who fan (did anyone else get giddy when Tom Baker popped up in the 50th anniversary special?). But I fear that if the writers of the series don't apply themselves and lookback on what made the series such a beacon in the annals of Sci-Fi, then we might be facing bleak times for the Doctor in which running away in a TARDIS might be the only answer.
  • Next doctor

First time in 30 years I deleted episodes without watching.
  • Worst season ever

    By Smiling Flash
What a dumpster fire, boring and preachy. Dr Who used to be about adventure, strange aliens and civilizations. The Dr used to use romance and adult relationships with humans and companions. This version is just The Magic Schoolbus, with no imagination and then production values look cheap.

Oh it’s been so much fun the whole way round and I am looking forward to the rest of the season!!!
  • 1.5 stars - Fire these terrible writers

    By Amy Meditate
Anyone trying to say this is a 5-star season has no idea what quality television is. Although it seems like it's more just feminists insulting guys that are leaving 5 stars. I am a girl and I don't like the show, so no it's not just dudes giving this show bad ratings. The writing in this show is absolutely horrific. It was already going way downhill as of last season , but now I hear this cringey dialogue and I am literally embarrassed for the cast members that they have to read these lines!! That's not to say the cast is any good either though. Part of it is the writers just making the characters unlikable, but the actors are also subpar. Jodie isn't a terrible actor but she is a poor Dr Who. And the supporting characters are really annoying, why do we need annoying sidekicks?! And I don't mind if you have some political stuff in the show, but for gods sake, learn how to do it without yelling at people you dummies! Look at the classic Star Trek series (TOS - Enterprise), they were ALL political, but everyone still loved them, because they knew how to express ideas SUBTLY. Go watch something else. 1.5/5 stars.
  • Amazing!!!

    Love it!
  • Whittaker is contending with Tennant to be my favorite Doctor

    By MDooley47
Thus far this season has solidified Whittaker's Doctor's personality. She fits the roll of the Doctor perfectly. Tennant has been my favorite Doctor since his first season, but now Whittaker is challenging him for the spot.
  • Doctor Who

I love the female Doctor and was super excited when the series came out! I think this season is really, really brilliant and I will forever support and love it. And everything has a rough start. This is the first female Doctor. Give the writers and the character a break.
  • Amateurish and poorly written

    By Ron Reed
The actress playing the Doctor is quite good, but the overall production values feel kind of cheap, and the writing is frequently not just a it awkward but really, really awful with gaping plot holes and/or sections where you're just rolling your eyes at how poorly done it is. in an age where you can watch programs like Westworld, His Dark Materials, Legion, Watchmen, etc etc etc, this is really 'B-grade' viewing at best. I wish they would get their act together and produce a series worthy of this character, but this isn't it.
